The solar market has grown fast and not every installer works to the same standard.
Ask for the SECP registration number and verify it online. A registered private limited company is accountable under company law. An unknown contractor with a phone number is not.
Solar involves high-voltage DC and AC systems. Ask whether a PEC registered electrical engineer handles system design, protection layout and commissioning, not just the installation crew.
Ask for a written proposal with equipment, scope, inclusions, exclusions and total price confirmed before work starts. If they won't fix it in writing, that is a warning signal.
Ask about earthing, surge protection devices, MCBs and WiFi monitoring. A quote that does not mention these is either hiding them in the final cost or omitting them entirely.
Since February 2026, surplus solar exported to the grid earns around PKR 11 per unit, not the old PKR 26. An installer who does not know this will size your system incorrectly. Ask if design is optimized for self-consumption.
